GLOCAL II is Go!

Fantastic news from the EACEA yesterday that our bid for the next tranche of funding for GLOCAL has been approved.  This second round will provide scholarships for about 25 students each year for four years, with the first intake in September 2020.  And the new programme is bigger, better and even more global, including as it does three new partners – Uppsala University in Sweden, Kyoto University in Japan and Universidad de Los Andes in Bogota, Colombia.

We are really excited about the opportunities this new programme offers to our students, and are extremely grateful to the two cohorts currently undertaking GLOCAL I  for the challenges and inspiration they have provided thus far.  At GLOCAL we believe in co-creation, and our students have played a critical role in shaping our thinking.

Huge thanks also to all of our Partners and Associate Partners around the globe – established and new – for their input.  It is wonderful, and enormously rewarding, to be working with such a talented, committed and cooperative group of colleagues from across the world.  International cooperation, despite what our political classes might argue, remains a fundamentally good thing.

We can now look forward to the graduation of the very first cohort of GLOCAL students in November, secure in the knowledge that there will be at least six more cohorts to come.
